10 Weeks Tomorrow

Okay, so I’m not blogging nearly as much as I would like. I haven’t told my husband (or anyone else) about my blog. I’m afraid he’ll think it’s silly. So I have to do this on weekends when he’s at work – it’s the only time I’m home and he’s not.

I had my first ultrasound on Monday, 12th November 2018. The baby was perfectly healthy which was such a relief. I was 8 weeks exactly, which surprised me because prior to getting pregnant my periods were so irregular. Heart rate was 167 which is very strong. The baby was about 1.6cm and came from my left ovary haha.

Tomorrow I will be exactly 10 weeks. I’ve still had ZERO morning sickness which I’m grateful for. I always thought morning sickness was something that happened to all women but apparently not. My boobs are a little sore but less so, I’ve still been sleeping a lot, I’m a little moody, bloated, under my belly button feels harder but I’m not sure if there’s a bump yet or not. It’s hard to tell because I’ve always had a bit of a pot belly. I think I’ve put on weight, so I really need to make more of an effort to exercise. I’m trying to eat healthily but I went through a couple of weeks of craving carbs – mainly bread and cheese. That’s gone now so I’m trying to eat more fruit and veg. If it gets too long between snacks I start to feel a bit sick so I’m constantly eating!

I told my husband that I was feeling sick on my way to work because I don’t eat before I leave home. He bought some granola bars, opened the box and left them by the front door so I can grab one on my way out. He’s so sweet and will be an amazing Dad. He’s treating me so well already but I don’t want to take advantage of him too much because there is a long way to go!

Something funny happened earlier today. I was listening to music on Youtube and for some reason it started playing sad love songs and I started crying! Must be pregnancy hormones surely…

We’ve told a couple of close friends about the baby and we just told both sets of parents. Everyone was really excited like I knew they would be. Mum’s already texted me asking if she can organise a gender reveal! I told her yes, but that’s going to be a while away! My Aunty, Uncle and Cousin visited with my mum so they found out too. My Aunty Wendy cried a lot! It was cute and made me tear up.

I’ll have to go to the doctors soon and organise my 12 week ultrasound. I’ve been going to the local medical centre and seeing whichever doctor is free at the time so there’s no real consistency or plan moving forward yet. I will bring this up when I go. If everything goes well at my next ultrasound I will finally be able to tell people! It’s been the longest 5 weeks of my life keeping this secret and 12 weeks is still 2 weeks away!

Well that’s all… I will probably blog next when I have my next ultrasound.
